Estructura de oportunidades y comportamiento emprendedor. Los Emprendedores argentinos en Cataluña, España

Baltar, Fabiola; Brunet, Ignasi
Abstract:
The aim of this article is to study the factors associated with the characteristics of Argentinean entrepreneurs in Spain and the types of firms they set up (opportu nity-need). The hypothesis is that migrant entrepreneurs from developing coun tries are able to detect opportunities that Spanish-born entrepreneurs fail to notice during times of crisis and do not only set up firms based on need. This detection of needs can be explained partly by their entrepreneurial skills acquired in turbu lent contexts and partly by the entrepreneurial context of the host country that facilitates the creation of business opportunities. A mixed method was designed to construct typologies of entrepreneurs and identify opportunity cases through in-depth interviews. The results opened up new perspectives on the phenomenon of migrant entrepreneurs in Spain.
